Understanding the processes that transform mountain habitability

Research projects

My research programme examines how climate and environmental change are reshaping the habitability of mountain regions. Focusing on tourism and outdoor recreation, it investigates transformations in practices, visitor flows and relationships with mountain environments, while also analysing the adaptive capacities and trajectories of tourism stakeholders and territories. Conducted primarily in the Alps and the Pyrenees, this work connects individual perceptions and behaviours with broader territorial transformations. Environmental and climate justice provide a cross-cutting perspective, highlighting inequalities in exposure, access, decision-making and adaptive capacity that shape changing mountain futures.

Adapting mountain tourism territories to environmental change

Bringing together geography, management sciences and ecology to understand tourism adaptation to climate change and biodiversity loss.

A cooperation project between the UTOPI – UMR CNRS 5311 laboratory, Toulouse School of Management Research (TSM-R) and the Centre for Research on Biodiversity and the Environment (CRBE). Supported by the TIRIS Scaling-Up Science Program.
